a) What does a record label do?

A record label enables artists who have recently been signed to the label to be support the artist whilst entering the music industry. Record companies are the main investors and developers of musical talent across the world. The record label also help artists through there marketing/sales support to make music their full time career. They also exploit the artists recordings commercially and collect and pay for the records being sold etc on there behalf.
